Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic singer, composer and performer. The singer combines jazz from the soul genre with R&B for a distinctive mix. She's performed on Broadway and in the Democratic National Convention and in the European clubs and festivals. Sunshine's title is Denise White. Although she lives in Atlanta, she originates out of Chester Pennsylvania where she began music by performing as well as playing the piano at churches. Her music career started in Atlanta at Spellman College. The Fighting Temptations The first single to feature her vocals was Stalk You which was a house 12-inch released exclusively in Japan; it was later remixed by many producers and remains the mainstay in her live show. She also contributed to The Fighting Temptations soundtrack. She was the main piano player for Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy and Tony Award winning vocalist who has worked on stage production Dreamgirls in the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, contacted her to be the choir leader of the production. Sunshine became the focus of attention during four daily shows at the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was subsequently invited to sing at the inauguration of President Obama in 2009.
